Opening STRAAT Museum

On 9 October the STRAAT Museum will open its doors at the NDSM-wharf. The STRAAT Museum is the Dutch name for the Street Art Museum. It will immediately become the largest street art museum in the world. Despite the fact that we are currently fully in the coronapandemic, the opening seems to be able to continue.

The old warehouse in which the museum will settle has an area of more than 7000 square meters, enough space to keep enough distance and enjoy the many works that they will exhibit here. From all over the world, artists have been asked to show their art especially for the museum. All the works in the museum are original and one-off but in the style of the artist in question.

Let yourself be taken into the extraordinary world of street art. Try to clearly see and understand the difference between a graffiti on a wall somewhere in a city or a work of art in which someone has put his or her heart and soul into.
A taste is already on the outer wall of the museum. This is a huge painting by Anne Frank in a contemporary style. The image is already very well known and the picture has already gone around the world. The painting is 24 metres high and made by the Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra.

Keep an eye on the museum's website and socials to know more about the opening and rules of coronavirus.
