Heineken Experience

From a distance you can see the large building built out of bricks. This is the place in De Pijp where Heineken beers were brewed since 1863. A brand that the Netherlands and certainly the Amsterdammers can be a bit proud of. Until 1988 beer was brewed here, but when the brewery moved to a larger and modern location, it was decided to convert this building into a museum. Museum is actually too little for what's going on here. The large copper kettles, the smell, the show and the beer afterwards make it one big Heineken Experience.

The experience

In a fun, playful and pleasant way you will learn more about the Heineken brand and the way beer is brewed. Through image, sound, smell and feel you can spend hours in the 4-storey museum. There are beautiful films about the past and present of the brewery, you can see many old billboards, you can tap your own beer and bottle your personalized beer bottle. All nice things so! After your visit you can of course have a nice beer (or 2!).

Accessibility

The Heineken Experience is easily accessible for people with reduced mobility. There are lifts and roadplates for wheelchairs.

Location

The Heineken Experience is located at the Stadhouderskade. This is a wide busy street. From Leidseplein and Central Station there are several trams to the stop in front of the door. It is also easily accessible by car. Our advice is to park in the parking garage on the Stadhouderskade.
